Friday fun. Sometimes we want async CSS to load at a low priority. Sometimes we want high. Testing an approach that gives us control: Low, uses rel="alternate stylesheet": High, uses rel="alternate stylesheet preload":

For JavaScript... the size is more painful than it looks. It's going to take time to unpack & execute after it loads. You'll see that pain illustrated in other metrics such as how soon your page is actually usable, and not just looking that way -> Lean harder on HTTP, HTML, & CSS

Fonts: self-host & consider font-display: swap. Frankly, the rest aren't a problem. The HTML & CSS could stand to be heavier to offset the over-work JavaScript is likely doing. HTML & CSS can and should be *delivered* in smart & efficient ways but they aren't the size culprits.

Should you use one input or multiple inputs for one field? ✅The problem with multiple inputs ✅When multiple inputs are the way to go anyway ✅Why automatically focussing the next field with JS isn’t great ✅Why input masks aren’t great
