For the people who think they can create a cryptocurrency bigger than Bitcoin, you will need to build a community bigger than what you see in Miami right now. Good luck!

The narrative goes something like this: BTC's scripting language is not expressive. Therefore, BTC's hashpower can't be used to secure L1 or L2 smart contracts. Therefore, BTC is like a rock and STX must be a "side chain." But, what is the truth?

Nice diagram, but it’s incorrect. Stacks consensus works on Bitcoin 🤯

There is no limit to how many different systems and layers can anchor into the Bitcoin blockchain, effectively re-using the same thermodynamic security.

When Stacks was launching, a frequent criticism would be, “why would anyone spend Bitcoin to secure Stacks?” A few months in, miners have spent $20,000,000+ in BTC to mine Stacks.

The .btc domains are live! Decentralized domains secured by Bitcoin. I got muneeb.btc, you can directly use the smart contract or register through a decentralized web registrar: Gold is a rock; Bitcoin, not a rock.

The BurgerSwap exploit is an interesting data point for the crypto industry. They inherited reentrancy issues from the design of Solidity (ported to BSC). For the industry to mature, I’d like to see language designs outside of Solidity.

Stacks yield works sort of like a Bitcoin bond i.e., a future BTC yield for locking. The Bitcoin yield is programmable and devs can use it in DeFi lego blocks.

In crypto protocols, there are no magic bullets, only design trade-offs. Bitcoin maximizes for decentralization and independent verification. A truly decentralized base is the hard thing; once you have it other designs are possible on top but not vice versa.
