    Update Dec 13: We're seeing thousands of users in Russia connect to Tor using bridges. That means ISPs are censoring Tor... but it also means Russians are successfully circumventing it with the help of our community of bridge operators. 🇷🇺🌉

    In December 2018, the Tor network had 961 bridges. In 2019, it had 1,268 bridges. Last year, 1,571. Today? 1,973! We're seeing that the number of Russians connecting to Tor is staying relatively steady. This is a result of the community effort!

    This week's Tor Browser 11.0.2 release has fresh built-in bridges so Russian users can configure their Tor Browser to "use built-in obfs4 bridges."

    Some Russian ISPs blocked public Tor relays and built-in bridges by IP address, enumerated "moat" obfs4 bridges and blocked them by IP address, and used DPI to recognize and block Snowflake connections. Other obfs4 bridges continued to work throughout.

    Dec 9 UPDATE: Since the Russian government has taken another step against internet freedom by blocking the Tor Project's website and, in some cases, blocking the network, internet freedom supporters have fought back by spinning up 200+ bridges. 💪 🌉

    (НОВОСТИ НА 7 ДЕКАБРЯ) В настоящее время мосты, встроенные непосредственно в Tor Browser, в России заблокированы. Вам нужно получить работающий мост obfs4. О том, как использовать мосты Tor, можно прочесть здесь (на русском языке):
